Inside the Cage

At first, it seemed like shelter. Silken light, floating softness - untouched. Then the lines appeared. Fine. Deliberate. Not threads. Not stems. Bars. She was not made of light alone. Not born from shadow only, either. She was both - dark and light, the hush between pulse and silence. Held too tightly, until the balance fractured. Caged not to be guarded, but to silence what could not be comprehended. And the world slowly forgot the song sung by things whole.
